Sketchbook Extravaganza !

 Hey blog-lurkers!
This month has been very exciting for me - I've started working at Elliott animation as a junior animator. So far it's been so wonderful but it also means that I've had way less time to scan + post things here. So! To make up for that here is a bunch of sketches collected from the summer thus far (one or two school-year sketch cameos are in here - try to find them). Enjoy :)

Some sketches from a couple of weeks ago. 

A family at Swiss Chalet on mother's day. 

(Funny Story: A boy was giving out free roses to each woman who came in on mother's day. The little old woman at the back - glasses, green shirt - kept getting up from her table throughout dinner, hobbling away, and would return with a new rose each time. She must have had over a dozen roses by the time they left. I was impressed).

Some of these were drawn while cafe sketching, a couple were drawn in my women's litt. class.

LIFE DRAWING - YEAR 03

Here are some life drawings. mostly from this semester, and a few are from the tail end of the summer. One of the pages is virtually all Ed - one of my favorite models! I am hungry.

SUMMER LIFE DRAWINGS

An update - as promised! I've been doing life drawing at Sheridan over the summer and these are some of my drawings. I can never finish a complete pose in 30 seconds which is something im working towards being able to do. You can probably tell by disembodied torsos or headless figures, etc. in the first page of poses. :( Some of these are done in ink, some in graphite, and others in colored pencil. Most poses are 30 sec - 3 min. The drawings with ink + marker are 5 minute poses. Enjoy the weird green girls, too!

I still have a lot to improve on but I hope you like!

Costume Life Drawings

It's been a long, long time since I've posted anything new up here.  I hope the few people who follow this blog are glad to see something new! Below are some costume & creature life drawings from the final semester of my second year life drawing class. Also - I've given the blog a much needed makeover. I like it. Hope you do too. Expect more updates soon and more content to be added! 

Hopefully these drawings will tide you over until the next post. I'm taking an open life drawing class this summer so I should have some more drawings to post soon.

Royal Winter Fair - Year One

Hello Friends,

Here are some drawings of animals from the Royal Winter Fair. 

My fondest memory of the RWF was the multitude of 'lost child' announcements. I swear that at least one child was lost for every two animals that i drew. I also enjoyed the baby pigs and llamas/alpacas. My portfolio should have been only llamas, alpacas, and piglets. That would have been wonderful. 

Anyway, enjoy the drawings.

I'm not too fond of most of them but it will be nice to compare my drawings next year to these ones. My only goal for next year is to draw faster (with structure, of course) so i can fill more pages. I barely had enough drawings for the portfolio this year which left me having to use a few repulsive ones.
